AUTHORITY: Pursuant to Virginia Code Section 55-210.18, State Treasurer Manju Ganeriwala announces a public auction of abandoned property from such sources as bank safe deposit boxes, police evidence rooms, and other sources. Thousands of items are remitted annually to the Virginia State Treasurer from unclaimed bank safe deposit boxes around the Commonwealth, state police evidence rooms, and other sources which are required by statute to be turned over to the state, which then makes efforts to find the original owners, and having exhausted those efforts must now be sold to the general public at auction. Many interesting items are in this sale!
ALL ITEMS SELLING "AS-IS/WHERE-IS", BUYER BEWARE: All items included in this auction shall be sold ''As-Is / Where-Is, with all faults, known and unknown''. The Auctioneer, Auction Firm and Staff, and the Commonwealth of Virginia and its Personnel make no warranty or guarantee of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the articles offered for sale. Fakes & Forgeries may be present in this sale; Attendance during Preview/Inspection day is highly recommended and is your only protection! Each participating Bidder is solely responsible for determining their own level of interest and making their own bidding decisions of value in choosing whether, and how much, to bid. 
PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO PICK UP YOUR ITEMS during the scheduled removal. NO refunds, credits or charge back's will be granted due to a lack of removal at the designated times. Shipping is available at the bidder's cost & responsibility to arrange. Any bidder who desires to have their items shipped MUST contact a shipper directly to make arrangements (click on Shippers list above). If shipping arrangements have not been made in advance of the scheduled removal, YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO PICK UP AND REMOVE YOUR ITEMS AT THE POSTED REMOVAL DAY/TIMES. Bidders who do not pickup their items at the scheduled time will be considered to have abandoned their purchases and agree that they will not be entitled to any refund or adjustment. TERMS AND CONDITIONS (APPLIES TO ALL BIDDERS) 
1. BIDDER NUMBER: Obtaining a bidder number signifies your understanding, acceptance and agreement of all terms and conditions listed herein and announced by Auctioneer. All bidders are required to have a Bidder Number to bid, registering online with full name, address, valid credit card, telephone number and email address. All bids must be secured by a MasterCard, VISA, Discover or American Express and you will be asked to provide a valid credit card number while registering.(Go to Login/Register and click "Register Here" to create your bidder number and password.) All Bidder accounts are subject to data & credit card verification (pre-authorization) at all times. 
2. ABSENTEE BIDS will be accepted up to the ending of the live preview (Tue, December 7, 2021 at 5:00pm EST). Absentee bid forms will be available at (and in advance of) Preview by calling 804-358-0500 to request one. Absentee bid forms must be signed, and also be secured with a valid credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover accepted). 
3. PAYMENT & BUYER PREMIUMS: For this sale only - Payment will be collected at time of Pickup. All bidder accounts must be paid in full prior to removal of any lots from the auditorium. Terms of payment are Bid Price + Buyer's Premium (see below) = Subtotal + Applicable 6.0% Sales Tax = Total Purchase Price.
BUYER PREMIUM is 15% or 18%, as follows:
*Credit Card (MasterCard, VISA, Discover, AmericanExpress): Bid Price + 18% Buyer's Premium = Subtotal + 6.0% VA Sales Tax
*Cash or Certified Funds (Valid Cashier's Checks): Bid Price + 15% Buyer's Premium = Subtotal + 6.0% VA Sales Tax
*Checks: Bid Price + 15% Buyer's Premium = Subtotal + 6.0% VA Sales Tax, & ONLY with Bank Letter of Guarantee. (Click for sample Bank Letter) Bank Letter must be received by 5:00pm Monday December 6, 2021 and is subject to pre-verification and approval.
Note: Entire purchase must be paid via single payment method (ie. Credit Card *or* Cash/Certified/Check; We cannot split purchases between multiple forms of payment (credit & cash/check) or between multiple credit cards. 
4. SALES TAX: All purchases by all buyers - in-state & out-of-state buyers - subject to 6.0% Virginia Sales Tax (including Bid Price + Buyer Premium), *UNLESS* you are purchasing for resale *AND* have uploaded a valid & signed ST-10 or ST-14 Form into your Bidder Profile PRIOR TO SALE CLOSING! This includes out-of-state buyers having items shipped!
TAX EXEMPT FORMS: *IF* you are PURCHASING FOR RESALE and desire to avoid VA State 6.0% sales tax, you MUST UPLOAD a signed VA ST-10 TAX EXEMPT FORM into your Bidder/User Profile (in-state buyers CLICK HERE to download ST-10 Form) , or a VA ST-14 TAX EXEMPT FORM (out-of-state buyers CLICK HERE to download ST-14 Form) , PRIOR TO AUCTION CLOSING! - with your BIDDER# written clearly in the upper right corner.  Forms received after auction closing time will not be honored and you will be charged 6.0% VA. 
5. ELIGIBILITY: In order to maximize the asset sale results on behalf of the original property owner's interest & rights, any and all properly registered bidders will be allowed to bid on their own behalf including the general public at large, all state employees and its agents including auctioneer and staff. 
6. CONDITION: Everything is being sold in an ''As-Is, Where-Is'' condition, with all faults, known and unknown. The Commonwealth of Virginia, the Auctioneer and the auction firm do not make any warranty or guarantee of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the condition, authenticity or merchantability of the articles being offered for sale, INCLUDING all markings of any kind which may be present on the items and/or showing in photographs. These unclaimed personal property lots are being sold by bid, bulk bid or separate bids as determined by Seller (Commonwealth of Virginia) and Auctioneer. Auctioneer reserves the right to sell items at his own discretion in the order he sees fit. The Commonwealth of Virginia (Seller) reserves the right to reject any bid or to remove items from sale at any time at its sole discretion. All matters subject to legal interpretation above and beyond the scope of Virginia Auction Statutes shall be resolved between Buyer and Seller through arbitration, initiated by and at the expense of Buyer. It is understood that catalog descriptions, quantities and other information are representative only for purposes of assisting in identifying which lots are being sold and are subject to error and omission. (EXAMPLES: "GLDTN" & "SLVTN" descriptions are abbreviations for goldtone & silvertone, and are indicative of COLOR ONLY, and are NOT a representation of gold, silver or any other precious metal. Manufacturer/Maker marks, labels, stamps, etc (Example: "14k", etc) have NOT been authenticated and are NOT guaranteed to be in any way accurate.) Buyers must rely on their own inspection to buy - no responsibility of any kind is taken for accuracy of representation, including validity of any markings on items. There may be reproductions, fakes and forgeries in this sale - Buyer Beware - careful Buyer inspection is imperative and is your only protection! 
7. RESPONSIBILITY: Purchaser assumes complete responsibility for all items once he/she is established as the final high bidder which is indicated once an item is marked closed/ended/sold. In the event an item is not available for pickup, the Buyer must notify our onsite staff and file a claim within 24 hours of the Pickup date by replying to your original emailed invoice noting what was not available. After 24 hours have passed, if no email claim is filed or received, the Auctioneer and Buyer agrees that no adjustment or refund will be made. 
8. REMOVAL: Items must be paid for and removed on Wednesday, 12/8/21. Absentee Bidders: See above Absentee terms and conditions. Successful absentee bids must also be picked up or shipped at bidder’s expense. ALL PACKAGES & RECEIPTS SUBJECT TO INSPECTION BEFORE REMOVAL! Any bidders having items shipped must make their own shipper arrangements; shippers must comply with the above Removal schedule. Items being shipped may ONLY be shipped to the Buyer's credit card statement address! (No alternate addresses allowed!) Auctioneer and Commonwealth of Virginia reserve the right to require and record a valid copy of Buyer’s Driver’s License prior to the removal or shipment of any goods, and – by participating in this sale – Buyer’s agree to comply with this requirement. 
9. PERSONAL AND PROPERTY RISK: All persons attending during preview and/or removal of goods assume all risks of damage or loss to person or property and specifically release the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Auctioneer, auction firm and all associated personnel from liability therefore, including all travel to and from the event. Neither the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Auctioneer, auction firm nor company principals shall be liable by reason of a defect in, or condition of the premises on which the sale is held.
